INGREDIENTS
1 ½ cups light brown sugar
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 large garlic cloves, chopped
2 lbs sirloin (or your favorite steak), cut into thin strips
Bamboo skewers, soaked in water
Sesame seeds (optional)
Green onions, chopped (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Whisk brown sugar, soy sauce, pineapple juice, water, vegetable oil, and garlic together in a large bowl to create the marinade.
Drop beef slices into the mixture and stir to coat. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and marinate beef in refrigerator for 24 hours.
Remove beef from the marinade, shaking to remove any excess liquid. Discard marinade.
Thread beef slices in a zig-zag pattern onto the soaked skewers.
Preheat smoker to 400°F or grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
Grill until the beef is cooked through, about 3-5 minutes per side.
Top with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve immediately with rice.
