HIXON’S FIXIN’S JALAPENO POPPER DIP RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

12 oz diced jalapeños, fresh or pickled

12 oz bacon

2 packs cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheese 

2 tbsp Hixon’s Fixin’s BBQ Rub

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 and cook bacon on a baking sheet until almost done cooking, then chop and set aside.

While cooking bacon, combine following ingredients in large mixing bowl: cream cheese, sour cream, and BBQ seasoning. Mix together until smooth.

Add the cheese, chopped bacon (reserve some for topping), and diced jalapeños (reserve some for topping), and stir briefly, until throughly mixed.

Transfer the mix to an oven safe baking dish or a cast iron skillet and spread evenly.

Smoke or bake at 225 F for 1 hour, or until hot all the way through.

Top the dish with the reserved bacon, jalapeños, more shredded cheese, and dust with a pinch of bbq seasoning, then bake for additional 5 minutes, until cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
