HIXON’S FIXIN’S PRESSURE COOKER REFRIED BEANS RECIPE

Try our super easy pressure cooker refried beans recipe for a tasty meal in no time. Just put the ingredients in, set the timer, and let the pressure cooker do the rest.

Cook Time: 90 Minutes

Serves: 6 People

INGREDIENTS

2 1/2 cups pinto beans

6 cups water

1 tbsp kosher salt

1/2 tbsp granulated garlic

1/2 tbsp cumin

1/2 tbsp oregano

1/2 tbsp pepper

2 tbs olive oil or rendered bacon fat

2 bay leaves

INSTRUCTIONS

Rinse the beans in a colander to remove any unwanted pebbles or pieces that may be in the bag.

Mix all ingredients in pressure cooker and seal the lid.

Cook on high pressure for 1 hour 10 minutes, then vent to release any remaining pressure (or let naturally release over time).

Carefully open the lid. The beans will be very liquidy.

With an immersion blender (or by hand with a potato masher), puree the beans until they reach your desired consistency.
